Broaden Bonuses for Better Business
by Todd Kenovas

Giving bonuses has become an important part of the online
marketer's arsenal for a fundamental reason: they get
results. Because there are many ways to integrate bonuses
into your promotion strategy, limiting yourself to a couple
could be hurting your bottom line.
Here are 12 (and a couple of extras at no charge!) ways to
employ bonuses for more profitable marketing:
1. To encourage repeat web site traffic, offer regular
time-limited bonuses. As well, you could up the ante by
linking two or more bonues together. Make it so part one is
not so useful without parts two and three.
2. Issue a bonus coupon to everyone who purchases your
product. It can be a rebate on another item of your own or
someone elses product gained through a joint venture.
3. Exchange discount coupons with other marketers to be
used as announced or surprise bonuses.
4. Offer one of your branded products to other businesses
in a compatible target market to use as a bonus. The other
merchants get a gratis way to add value and you acquire the
free advertising.
5. Develop reports linked to your merchandise and offer
them as freebies to other marketers to use as bonuses.
6. Give bonuses to attract and maintain ezine subscribers
or to grow forum membership.
7. Swap items with other merchants so you can offer bonuses
that are greater than the cost of your own item.
8. Be sure to list the price of your bonus, whether it be
in your advertising or in your offers.
9. If you are selling a product that must be shipped,
provide a downloadable bonus to give customers an instant
reward for buying.
10. Don't have enough bonuses? Consider these ideas. You
may create some by taking sections from your ebooks, or you
could offer half an hour of consultation for a limited
time. Or you can develop a members only section stocked
with useful tools and products, then offer it as a bonus to
purchasers.
11. Honor your most valued buyers. Provide purchasers of a
big ticket product a significant unlisted bonus. The bonus
might lessen the impact of the major expense, boost the
value of your product and cut down on refund requests. And
don't forget the consistent purchasers. Their loyalty is
priceless and needs to be rewarded.
12. Create a feeling of urgency by offering bonuses for a
fixed period. You can do this with products, services and
ezine subscriptions.
13. Since we all like a surprise, use this emotional pull
in two ways. Declare a surprise bonus in your sales copy to
help clinch the sale. But also deliver a bonus that wasn't
announced to boost customer satisfaction and encourage more
purchases.
14. Join with other marketers to pool products and create a
powerful, exclusive bonus package. Each of you can then use
it to sell costly products.
