Education Degrees

Obtaining degrees is a goal of many Americans. The reason
for this is more high paying jobs are available for
individuals with more degrees. While some people actually go
to college for the sake of learning or because they really
enjoy a particular subject, the majority of people simply go
to college to get a degree so they can get a job. The
degrees start with a high school degree followed by a two
year community college degree, then comes the four year
university degree followed by the two year masters degree
and the ultimate degree is the doctoral degree.
A high school degree is the culmination of 13 years of study
from kindergarten through the 12th grade. Fortunately, the
majority of Americans receive their high school degrees and
those that do not frequently return to school to get their
GED. The reason for this is the high school degree is the
basis for the majority of jobs in the United States. Those
without a high school degree find it very difficult to get a
job.
Community college degrees are good degrees to have because
the return on the money is significant. Community colleges
generally offer two year programs in skilled labor such as
cosmetology, truck driving, radiology, dental assistants and
the like. The amount of money and time spent in a community
college is negligible to the amount of money an individual
can make with this degree. This is a wonderful option for
most anybody.
Next comes masters degrees, which require the student to
study an additional two years in a specific curriculum.
Students can obtain masters degrees in a wide variety of
subjects with the MBA being one of the more popular masters
degrees.
Finally, is the doctoral degree. This requires even more
years of studying as well as clinical. Medical doctors,
pharmacists, and university professors receive their
doctorates in order to be an expert in their field and end
up with high paying jobs.
And finally is the doctoral degree. This is the highest
degree an individual can achieve and it requires a great
deal of studying and commitment. Generally those studying
for their doctorates are in school for up to 10 years
straight. Because of this not many people are willing to
make the sacrifice to study for so long despite the payoff
when the degree is earned. Degrees are important for
students to achieve not only because they provide the
opportunity for a good job but also because they provide the
student with knowledge and a good education. If you are
considering pursuing further studies, you should definitely
do so.
