Shipping and moving overseas

When it comes to shipping large quantities worldwide, there
is no better option than shipping freightliner. You can ship
in a full container or half container, depending on your
needs. There is, however, some important information you
need to know about shipping in containers.
First, you need to evaluate how many items you need to ship
and how much space you will need. You have the option of a
20 or 40 container, or else a partial container for
smaller items, so whatever you need shipped will be
accommodated. A 20 container generally has enough room for
a vehicle an some of your smaller household appliances or
else the contents of a two bedroom home. If you need more
space than that then you have the option of a 40 container
that can accommodate a vehicle and the contents of a two
bedroom home or else just the contents of a three to five
bedroom home. In the instance that you are only shipping
certain items you can ship a partial container as well.
Evaluate what you need to ship and the amount of space
available and then either upgrade to the larger container if
necessary or if you have too many items have a yard sale to
get rid of some.
When packing your items to be shipped you should keep in
mind there are a list of items that should not be packed for
the container. These items include alcohol, any jewelry,
food items or fruit, plants or seeds, open bottles of
liquids or anything flammable, spray cans, and any important
papers or documents that include birth certificates,
passports, banking records, or any other important personal
document. Make sure all of these items are either not
transported to your new location or else you carry them on
your person.
Now that you have decided to ship via a container you will
need to notify the shipping company at least 10 days in
advance of your desired departure date in order for you to
receive your belongings on time. You will need to provide
the company with your current address, phone number and
social security number as well as the address overseas and
phone number where you will be reachable. The shipping
company will not be able to process your order until they
have this information.
Finally, you will need to pay for your shipping costs. Most
companies require that you pay a deposit before you begin
packing the container and then the balance before the
shipment heads out. Regardless, most all shipping companies
accept a wide variety of payment options to meet your needs.
